Canadian nurse (Ontario) wanting to work in US

HI everyone,

I got my Canadian licence from Ontario long time ago and it was when there was no NCLEX exam, it used to be CRNE exam.

Now I am thinking of working in US and wondering how to get my NCLEX? Do I have to register on their website to write the exam or do I have to contact CNO?

Anybody else was in the same situation or recent experience?

Hi. You need to pick an easier US State of your choice to get a license from their State Board of Nursing and follow endorsement application (some allow Canadian endorsement to US) or initial exam from the Board of Nursing if you are required to do NCLEX. Part of the application is to contact CNO to send them Verification of License. Some States use the paperworks you submitted for CGFNS e.g. Visa Screen Certificate/CES so you do not need to send the Board duplicated forms you already used for CGFNS.
