Hi, I am a Canadian New Gradwho has recently accepted a job offer in Arizona and I will be completing my nuring program in April and moving to Arizona in June. However, I am having a lot of trouble figuring out what paper work needs to be started and processed. I have checked out the Arizona State Board of Nursing and I do not have a social security number at the moment. Does this meant that I won't be able to fill out the apply for a licence yet? How long does this process usually take?

Call the AZ BON during office hours (before 5 pm mountain time). keep calling until you get an actual person (don't leave a voicemail, as they won't call back in a timely fashion). ask them and see if you can get a straight answer. where are you planning to work in AZ?
I have accepted a job offer at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. I will be starting my career as an RN on a neurology unit. I am looking forward to it!
congratulations!! that's a great place to start as a new nurse. they have a fantastic new grad pogram. i work in the valley in the picu. the hospital i work at is affiliated with mayo--as they are a part of the bone marrow transplant program. i think you will like living in phoenix.
Thanks for your tip! I will definately call tomorrow on my day off. Unfortunately, I will be responsible to pay for all the necessary fees and Mayo is not participating in any of that.
really? they aren't paying for your move? that pretty much sucks. i mean mayo is great, but that's a lot of money to shell out. why'd you choose phoenix?

if you haven't got a SSN then you leave it blank. You just need to notify them once you have it. I have my license and not yet in the US
