Hey everyone! I’m relocating back to NY state after about 17 years in Canada. I obtained my 2 year diploma in Canada along with additional education that authorizes me to do most other things LPN’s weren’t originally allowed to do such as blood transfusions, etc.
I don’t know if my 2 year diploma would be equivalent to an associates, but are there any associate degree trained RN’s? Or is it fairly uncommon now and bachelors is required. Just curious as to peoples experiences. Thanks!

Hi. I have read few postings that Registered Practical Nurse/License Practical Nurse including the 1 yr Bridging Certificate could be equivalent to Associate Degree RN in the US but case to case basis from the Board of Nursing. You need to apply first and they will decide if you are deficient of anything. There are still programs with Associate Degree RN but some hospitals like my workplace required those w Associates to complete their BSN in 10yrs after being employed.
