Can you work while in IPN

Specializes in ICU.

Those of you in Florida, can you still work as an RN in the program?

Yes, but you must be approved to return to work. I was approved to go back to work when I entered the IPN having gone through intensive outpatient already. Your contract should give you an indication of what the process is in order for you to return to work. Have you signed a contract yet? Remember your case manager can easily answer these questions for you. I would not encourage you to bombard her or him with questions and/or concerns but I would encourage you to develop a good relationship from the start. Just be present and communicative.

Correct, the IPN must approve you to return to work. Once approved, part of the actual contract is that you must work at least one year as a nurse to fulfill the contract satisfactorily.

As for the evaluation: where did you hear that the evaluation costs that amount? While it's pretty much agreed upon here in this forum that the cost of IPN approved evaluations are unjustly (and arbitrarily) expensive, they are no where near that amount. Most seem to range in the mid-high hundreds.

I don't want anyone having a heart attack after reading that price quote...

I called IPN and spoke with an intake professional. I hope the information they provided was wrong. I'm in Florida.

They told you that the evaluation with the addictionologist was 4-7 thousand? It's just not true. Maybe you were so anxious you misunderstood? Please, call back tomorrow and have them clarify.

Just checking in with you! Were you able to contact IPN regarding this?
