Can you be an upperclassman official BSN student and transfer to another BSN school the next semester?

Published

Hi guys

Have you or anyone you know been able to transfer nursing schools (traditional pre-licensure BSN)? For example: You attend *State* State University as a junior/upper division admitted into that BSN Nursing program for one semester, but want to transfer to a different school's upper division BSN program the next semester? I don't mean pre-nursing, I mean you actually got into the upper division Nursing Program as an official BSN student. Would you apply as a transfer student to the new school? Even though you'd be more advanced that the pre-nursing applicants applying because you'd already be taking BSN level nursing courses, could you still count as a transfer and get in? I want to transfer between public universities (private schools are way too expensive) as an upper division admitted pre-licensure traditional BSN student.

I hope this is making sense. Has anyone done this or know of it? I can't find ANY info online about this. I plan to make some phone calls/emails but I feel like admission officers and nursing advisors are probably going to be confused by what I'm asking...

Thanks!!
