Can you retake Ivy Tech Classes?

I went to my English teacher today and asked her about my grade. Well, she didn't know because she is apparently behind and I'm so worried. I've decided to officially go into the nursing program and I've spoken with a nurse instructor at Ivy Tech and so told me it's competitive enough to where I'll need an A in that class (and all pre-reqs).

If I get a B or C (I know I won't fail it!) I was wondering if Ivy Tech Sellersburg let's people retake classes like English 112...

Please help. I'm so worried. Life has been so crazy lately I haven't been able to put 100% of me into English.

You can always retake classes. All grades stay on your transcript, but only the best counts. A C really lowers your chances of acceptance. Good luck!

Yes you can retake classes. If you get a B, I would apply first just to see, and if you don't get in then retake the class. Is the class you are talking about ENGL 112 (that you may not get an A in)? If so, that doesn't count towards acceptance...

It doesn't? Then which English class does? I took a U of L 101 English class an got an A-. Is that the one that counts?

ENGL 111 is the pre req you must have for entrance into the program. The equivalent of English Composition (probably the same as 101). You are taking Exposition and Persuasion right now correct?

Yes, I am taking Exposition and Persuasion....I guess I was a bit confused! Does an A- still count as an A with Ivy Tech points wise?

So, really, I've taken Psychology at UofL with an A.

My English is an A-.

So, all I really need know is Anatomy 1 and 2? (and to get an A). I was told by my school nurse to not take Anatomy 1 in summer because it's harder and apparently there are harder teachers...

If your credits transfer I believe that As count for As. I would check and make sure with an advisor though. I don't have any transfer credits so I am no help there. So yes, if those courses count and transfer you only need APHY 101 and 102 and I am betting your IVYT 10x class (like 101 or 105). I absolutely do not suggest either 101 OR 102 over the summer, but since you are at a different campus I don't know what the instructors are like :( If I was going to choose though, I would do 101 over 102 in the summer. No way would I try to take this class in less than 16 weeks!

I know it had to transer otherwise I wouldn't have been placed in English 112 in registration. Ha, thanks for the advice. I guess I need to clarify things out when I go to school next to be sure! I appreciate the responses!!!!

Your A- will count as an A at Ivy Tech. I know that for sure because I asked the nursing chair because I had an A- at my previous college for Eng. Comp as well.
