Can mental health diagnosis such as mild/moderate depression effect your career as a nurse practitioner? Let’s say depression will no effect your ability to practice safely but can count against you in Law suits, malpractice etc.

It shouldn’t. Your personal medical history is yours unless you choose to disclose it. I wouldn’t bring it up at work or in front of  patients and in such cases, it will never come up in a lawsuit.

Now if you sat there in front of a patient and attempted to relate to their condition with your story, threw them on a medication you’ve tried, and something bad happened while on that medication, expect to have it brought up.
