Speaking for the Army, the Army commissions all of its BSN-prepared RNs AFTER they have completed school. We don't usually accept ADN nurses (except in some rare cases).
The Army trains LPNs on the enlisted side, but that usually requires getting your combat medic first and then getting slated to go to LPN school. The chances of that happening aren't good.
If you want to be a nurse in the military, I strongly suggest you get your BSN and come in as an officer. It's competitive, but that is your best bet.

Can you learn nursing while serving?
Or must you be a nurse before joining the military?
So far I'm leaning towards the latter, but having others insight would be nice.
