Can I take NCLEX even though I haven't practiced since 2006?

Published

Hi! Ronia here, I need your advice. I am a qualified nurse from the Philippine 2005 and now migrated in Ireland working as a Care attendant in a tertiary or training hospital. Unfortunately, due to recession of the country no nursing job hiring and adaptation was stopped. The reason that I was not able to practice my nursing. I still want to work as a nurse. If Ireland can not take me in, is it possible for me to take NCLEX even I was out into nursing practice since 2006? Thank you! Please advice....

Each BON has their own requirements and some may require experience. Even if you get a license or pass NCLEX for the US you do realise with retrogression it is still going to take several years for you to get in the US with a visa allowing you to live and work there. Also many employers may ask for current experience
