Yulia, check your private messages.

Specializes in Critical Care, Postpartum.

2 Bachelors and 1 Masters degree, if I were you, I would go for either an Accelerated BSN program or an Accelerated MSN program. Some of those can be completed in 12-15 months depending on school/program. They are intense but doable (even with raising a family). They do however encourage you not to work.

Of course you can!!! Why not?? =)

I came to the States about three years ago, so my English is not perfect.

However, I studied really hard to get good grades in prerequisite classes and

have been volunteering at local hospital and LTC over a year.

I recently applied to two accelerated BSN programs and was invited for

interview in both schools.

I still don't know whether I will be accepted or not (fingers are crossed!)

I will do my best until I become a nurse. =)

It is overwhelming and intimidating (especially as a second-language learner)

but as long as you set your eyes on the goal, you will be fine.

Good luck!!

Thank you and GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thank you all for help!

As I understand the post difficult part of study ia Anatomy.

I want to start study it before taking a class. Should I buy textbook from CC where I am going to take class, Or I can buy any, or you can advise some good one.

Hi, Yuliya79 and everybody.

I am also moved here 11 years ago. I speak Chinese. Before I moved, I was a RN for almost 10 years. Now my kids are 14 and 9, I decide to go back to school. Since I went to a junior college of nursing, the colege here won't accept my credit. It is fine with me because I love going to school. I study English, reading, writing, just like a international student at a university than transfered to the college that I planed to study nursing. I already took AP1 and Microbiology. I don't think you need to study any of them yet. The reason is that there are two many you need to know and you will not remember. When you really go to class, you will realize teachers have notes for you. It will be easy this way. I need to go to my yoga class and hope to talk to you again.

Anatomy was fairly easy for me. All you have to do is just memorization :) If you have a good memory, Anatomy should not be too hard to study.

I am 30 years old and I have BA and not with medical field. I am interesting to be a nurse now and planning to go back to community college I graduated from with AA. First I did was to take a class/training to be CNA. I am still waiting for the test. Then, I will start volunteer/paid CNA jobs. Then, I will go LPN, and see what happens. I may start working as LPN and if I get confident being a nurse, I may go RN and possibly go BSN. English is my second language as well, but I saw many nurses are from foreign national. And, when I was in community college, many of my classmates who are preparing for nursing program are all mothers and their 30s or 40s. You are not alone!!

I am 33 yrs old with no degree, 1 Child (12) 1 husband, 4 dogs and I have to work full time. I do not have any cultural/language barriers, but I am sure there will be many others who do. I am nervous and excited I start in September and am going first for my ADN then my BSN. My husband is also very supportive and I am sure my son will be too. I think it great that you already have so much education under your belt, kudos to you!!!! I wish I had accomplished more of that when I was younger. Best of luck to you!!:)
