My actions under question:
I have no criminal record.
These instances were 4+ years ago.
I have since *attended a 9-month rehabilitation program*.
I am considering what to go to to college for, and Nursing seems like a meaningful living in which I believe I am completely capable of performing. My other options are engineering or computer science; and just thinking about those things makes me feel dead inside. Would I be able to pass the given "nursing background checks" when applying for a BSN program, and be able to practice as a nurse?
Thanks for any thoughtful responses. Have a good day!

What state are you in? Every state is different, they all govern themselves.
I'd go to your states board of nursing website, just google it, and read up on them. Maybe even email or call them if they give a phone number. They're the only ones that can tell you a definite answer.
And then reach out to the schools, and bring it up with them to make sure there won't be any issues with clinicals, because every site is free to have their own standards for who can go there with their class.
