I'm a pre nursing student. I was wondering if it is possible to shadow a nurse. I have 4 classes now but they aren't too bad. How would I go about this? I would love the opportunity. I did it in high school as part of a program. I got to go to the neonatal unit the first time, which was such an amazing experience (although quite sad) And then the second time was pediatric :) But I would love to do it again.

Good day, natmanzo:
Talk to your advisor to see if they can set this up for you, or have suggestions for whom you can contact. If, after talking with them (they are your first source for good questions like this one vs. forums), they are little to no help, then start contacting hospitals in your area to see if any of them have shadow programs as well as the requirements for participating in one. To my knowledge, they are free, but often times require scheduling.
Thank you.

I would try local hospitals, many have programs set up for shadowing. If there isn't something obvious on the website, the community outreach office is probably the place to start. If they aren't in charge of the program, they should know who is and how to contact them.
