So, it's about that time, time to start applying to CRNA programs. I have been working in a cardiac icu for the last 8
months, and am in the process of studying for my GRE and then probably my ccrn next. I have read, read,
researched and read some more about the CRNA profession however, i haven't had the opportunity to shadow a CRNA and ask some frank questions regarding the profession. Before i jump head first into CRNA school, i would love to better investigate the profession by shadowing a crna.
So i guess my question is, are there any CRNA's that would be willing to allow me to shadow them for a week? If so that'd be awesome and i'd be in your debt!!
I'm pretty sure that meant 21 months (of time spent in the ICU) :)
Oh ok! Sounds like Crossfit is has got his career mapped out pretty well. 2 years is about the average time before starting school. To become a good anesthetist, you need to have years of experience doing anesthesia, not necessarily many years bedside nursing.
Hey cube, ya USN2UNC had it right. I meant 21 months of xp. Im actually 26. I spent a couple years messing around playing college ball before i got hurt and then became serious about school.
But my career goal is to become a CRNA, not necessarily an ICU RN. So i've busted my butt to put myself into a position where i can acheive that goal in a timely and efficient manner. So ya, i've been planning this all out for the last 5 years lol.
