I am a veteran and have had my trach for 5 years this May, (laryngeal cancer), I am having issues with constant trach plugging, on the end of my trach, it collects a sticky mucous type material. I used to get plugs that dried and came out about the size of small raisins but now this is giving me issues, I have had to take my trach out to clear it, can I reuse my trach after I clear it and clean it. trachs are about $90 each,, and can be costly. and how long can it be before I need to trash it. I have two that I have cleared in this manner.
