Can I finish the rest of my pre reqs at a university (Thomas jefferson university)

Published

Hi everyone! I'm currently a community college student & it is my second year. After the classes that I am going to take in this fall, winter & spring- I still have 5 pre reqs.

My dream school is Thomas jefferson university, but I still have yet to finish the 5 credits that I need. (Chem1, chem2, microbiology, a&p2, cpr certification class)

Is it possible for me to transfer after the spring/summer and finish the rest of my pre reqs at Thomas jefferson or any other university (lasalle, Drexel) before officially enrolling into a nursing program?

i know some students do a 3rd year at a community college but due to a recent family issue, I prefer not to. It is best that I "get away" from this "mess"

Basically, I want to finish 5 required pre reqs at tju instead of doing another year at a community college; then when that is finished - apply to their nursing school.

Or can I finish my pre reqs while being in their nursing program?

thank you so much in advance!!

You could finish the prereqs at a different school. Just be sure the credits transfer to your program of interest.

They are call prerequisites for a reason. They are required to be completed before you apply to the nursing program. No, you cannot finish them while in the program.

But what if I transfer after this spring and finish my last 5 pre reqs there as a regular student then when I'm done, officially apply for their nursing program? I'm basically trying to leave where I'm from ASAP.

If the credits are transferable, I don't see why not.

Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!
