I have a record and want to know if I should pursue a degree in nursing. I had two felony drug abuse, 1-1992 Drug Abuse and again in 1995-Drug Abuse. Would I be able to go to Nursing school to become a Nurse Aide and then go on to be a Registered Nurse. Could you e-mail me back with the answer please?

When I lived in Calif. many years ago I knew 2 ex-drug addicts who became RN's. If I were you I would contact my state board of nursing and ask them these questions before starting nursing school. Good luck

It depends what state you are in. In Florida, they do the background check and if you have any felonies, it sets off a red flag. I don't know if they go on a case-by-case basis, or if all felonies stop you from going into the nursing program...

Some schools have specific guidelines such as this I found:

I would check out schools as well as potential license requirements.
