I am going to shadow a nurse educator and I need to come up with 2 objectives for this experience. The reason that I want to shadow her are:
To find out what it is like to prepare for clinicals.
To find out what it is like to prepare lectures for the classrrom
To find out how much work is put into grading papers while off the clock
To find out how many hours she really works every week
I am considering becoming a nurse educator and I want to know all the ins and outs of it. I am doing my research on the role of the educator and I can't believe what you guys make. That is very sad. I still want to become an educator, though, and if I do, I plan on joining the INA and ANA and make my voice heard.... NE's need more pay. My gosh, college is so expensice...and the hours you put in to get that MSN is incredible. And to get paid the same as a ADN. NOT RIGHT. NOT RIGHT.
Do any of you know of a legit website where I can find out more info about MSN educators and their role? can any of you help me formulate two objectives that I need to share with the educator that I am going to shadow. I want to knock her socks off, especially since she is a professor at my college. I have a hard time with wording the objectives. I have never done this, and I just need a little insight. The reasons that I want to shadow her are listed above, but how can I word those into objectives??

Hi
You are on the right track with your questions- I always refer to Bloom's taxonomy when I am writing objectives- another good place for well worded objective is your textbook.

the formula for writing objectives is:
WHO + will do WHAT + HOW + by WHEN
AN EXAMPLE:
At the conclusion of this presentation, the student will be able to formulate a plan of care for the patient with a trach.

try the NNSDO website
objectives are the "take home" message, or the bottom line. The above formula is great.
