My situation: I was suppose to apply the my local community's college ADN program. But I did not make high enough on the NLN to even apply for the program. So I was planning to apply to the LPN program until I found out that the program was pushed back due to the fact that the college i attend is switching from quarter to semester. So now the LPN program will not be accepting applications again until December of2011 or January 2012. The ADN program also starts accepting applications March of 2012. That being said I have year to wait.

I am currently doing CNA/Phlebotomy so my school schedule will booked up until like the end of june of this year. So my main thing is should I stay in school that next semester and continue to take classes? I have thought about just continuing to take ADN classes( English 1101, Microbiology and etc.) The only thing about continuing to take classes is that I live in Georgia and only receive the HOPE GRANT. So if I continue to take classes then if I get into the LPN program then I could have the possibility of having to pay more tuition out of pocket. I am already putting money aside for books and other costs, but the tuition I was/ am depending on HOPE.

I mention the LPN because I am applying for both LPN and ADN programs. I want my options to be open. Plus I would feel happy and thrilled to get into any program.

well if your dream is to be an RN there is no running around the classes.. wether you take them now become a lpn you still have to take english micro anatomy phys etc... you get grants for school i thought you get more that.. but you can still get loans at leat... apply for stafford loans unsub or sub.. that can help but if were you id just take the classes and knock them out of the way.. with the economy classes like that will be cut more and more and become harder to get to...

I am in the same position, and It sounds like we attend the same school... SCT? I am 2 classes short sct100 and drug cal which I am taken this spring semester. I wanted to transfer to Gordon ASN program but heard SCT was opening a ASN program soon????? I am wondering the same should stay or should I go.... I wanna be a NURSE. And I will miss the May cut as well and I am praing to get picked up in Dec.

So, you're completing a phlebotomy program now? I would finish that and apply to the ADN program. You can work while you're in school. Many hospitals may give tuition assistance, so that will likely make things a little easier on you.

I am actually in CTC, in Columbus Ga.
