You definitely have a good chance, experienced nurses with an ADN can find jobs. It's mainly hard for new grads, both BSN and ADNs, to get hired. Look for smaller/community hospitals. Most of the larger hospitals need BSN/MSN status nurses for accreditation, especially the ones with or going towards magnet status. But the job market for nurses is more difficult in California in general. Look for a job first then move there. Cost of living is very high and you don't want to go long without a job or savings.

I agree with Cecile 100%. The smaller community hospitals are much more open to hiring ADNs as long as you have experience, which you do. And I give a third vote for not moving out here until you have a firm job offer in hand.

Im an ADN RN based in ny with 3+ yrs of acute care/hospital experience and (CMSRN) MedSurg certification, will I have a chance of getting a Socal hospital job? if so, which hospital(s) would take an ADN RN with experience? any info would be helpful. Thanks!
Ive been reading threads and it looks like yall in SoCal only take BSN RNs
