I am looking to get into a Nursing B.S. program. I currently have All my prerequisites, good grades, and a B.S. degree (with a good GPA). I know York College has a B.S. program. But they want me to sit in there college for a whole semester before I can even be considered for their program. Which means I would also have to wait to take the NLN test at their school. I don't want to just sit in their school taking pointless classes I don't need. My GPA is in the lower 3's.
I know that the CUNY colleges are highly selective and have unofficial waiting lists.
Is York worth the wait? How likely is it to be selected? Does York also put their students on waiting lists?
PS. I don't care about the college being mad hood or whatever...lol I just need a cheap degree with little debt.

Hey,
I know it has been over a year, but I hope you will be able to reply. By I know I hope you managed to enter the program at York College, or any other program. If you are at York College, could you be so kind to shed light on whether or not is a good school and a good program to attend?
Thank you!
Hi. I got into the program at citytech. I was told from someone who works in CUNY that York mostly take students from the freshman class and that it would be a waste of my time to apply there. Anyways, I was already apply student at citytech so I it was an easy transition.
So I can only speak on CityTech''s program.
Go to whatever program tells you "yes" because a "yes" is not guaranteed. All these CUNY programs have crap they put their students through. I have met students who have dealt with many of the different programs. It's the same crap.
If you need to work you might want to try BMCC. City Tech teachers seems more interested in weeding out students. Our program is very time consuming, and a lot of students are failing. My biggest problem with CityTech is that we are not allowed to see our test after they are graded we have to just that the teacher's word on it. They refuse to go over the results of the exams. You could also try LPN programs, my friend went that route. Good Luck.
Wow, thank you for your quick reply! I honestly did not think you would! I am glad that you went to City Tech. My friend went there and currently work as a nurse. I am just researching some schools to apply next summer and York was one of them. But after hearing and reading about how horrendous this school is I am not not so sure.
