Hi everyone,

Im a CA FNP that has been practicing UC medicine for nearly 3 years.  I am looking into the full practice authority route here in CA.  Does anyone have any experience with this process?

I am looking into the legal requirements as outlined here https://nursing.uci.edu/2021/11/ab890-transition-to-practice/

I am a bit confused on the transition-to-practice (TTP) process...

My goal would be to start practicing in cosmetic medicine, but from what I gather from the article I would have to be in cosmetic medicine for 3 years as a part of my TTP before I could practice without a supervising physician?

If anyone has any experience or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated!!

So the way I understand it is we will need three years of supervision or 4600 hours and then to own something of our own, another 3 years in business. SO really we have 6 years of practice to own our own practice- how is that FPA? The nine member advisory committee that is going to decide our fate includes 4 NPs, two physicians and surgeons and one public member. In my opinion not a fair representation of NPs. I have a feeling we are going to be like Florida- FPA for primary care only, or even more limited. The AMA is strong in California- mark my words FPA as we know it in other states is not going to look the same in Cali.
