California State University, Sacramento (Sac State) Fall 2025 Traditional BSN

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm starting this thread for those applying to Sacramento State's Traditional BSN program for Fall 2025. Let's use this space to share our experiences, questions, and support throughout the application process.

Hi!
Thanks for making this thread. I'll be applying for Fall 2025 as well.

How many points is everyone applying with? I am planning to apply with 76.

I'm planning to apply with 77 points.

Nice! That's an awesome score.

Thank you! You have an amazing score as well. We are both well above the cutoff for previous semesters so I'm confident that we can make it in!

Hi, another possible applicant here, except with a FAR less chance than you two. I actually had a question about the value of applying as a person with a meager 67 points (congrats to both of you for such high scores! I'm pretty sure above 72 is basically a shoe-in for the program).

I know people are all like "Just apply! You never know~" but I'm trying to be realistic and I know I'm basically signing up to be denied, since the historic cut-offs are ALWAYS around 70 points, high 60s if your really looking back. What do you guys think? And if not (which is highly likely), does anyone have guidance on what I can do when I'm inevitably not accepted? I really don't want to go to a private school or out of state, and all the nearby ADN programs require that I have my pre-reqs done BEFORE applying (I'm still doing A&P II). I'm overall just kind of clueless.

Sorry for the lil rant, just a little bummed out and lost on what to do. Plus, CRC's career counseling never has appointment's available, and I really need some guidance :(

Hi, I wouldn't get your hopes down since we never know the amount of points people would have this time around in the application cycle. Sac state just today released the stats for the Spring 2025 class that just started and the cutoff was 71 points. It has been 70 and 71 points the last 8 semesters (4 years) now. So you're right, with 72 points, you will more than likely get into the program, but again, it all depends on the applicants this time around. The cutoff in Spring 2020 was actually 67 points, so it's not to say that you don't have a chance to get in, but it will surely be difficult. You stated that you are still taking A&P II, so I would recommend you try to get an A in that class, which should set you above 70 points, and then apply again not only to sac state , but all the other CC programs. I know the process is very confusing and difficult but as you know, nursing is extremely competitive in California. Let us know if you have any other questions, I'm sure others can chip in and give more advice as well.

Hey! Thanks for the encouragement and giving me a realistic outlook, I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. When you say 'apply again' for Sac State and the CCs, do you mean for the next cycle for Spring, since my pre-reqs will be done by then? Because the only way I can really raise up my points any more is by retaking the TEAS, but dear god, I struggled so hard studying to just get an 88 TT

Yes, applying again for Spring 2026 with your pre reqs completely done. Also, an 88 is a very good score, but if you can retake it and get a score in the 90's that can also help improve your application for the next cycle.

Applying with 73 points. Definitely nervous, since it's near the 71 pt historic cutoff.

Applying with 73
