California State University (Sac State), Sacramento Fall 2024

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone, I noticed that the Fall 2024 thread has not been started yet. Would anyone like to share what their applications look like? Or just a place to chat?

I applied with 74 points! Honestly I felt like getting a good score on the TEAS was the hardest part, but I'm hoping I have enough points on my app to at least get placed as an alternate.

Oh yeah, I'm sure you'll get in. If you get a 73+ you have a guaranteed spot basically. I applied with 84 pts, 98.7 TEAS. Hope to see you there!

84?!?! that's so insane congratulations!! you can definitely rest easy these next few months LOL

Hi there!
I applied with 75 points, 93.3 on the TEAS. Really nervous to hear back! Fingers crossed

Hey guys! 1st semester here.
I think as long as you guys have 72 or more you'll get in! Obvs can't predict the future but based of the past the cut off will probably be 70-72 points for Fall 2024

How is the 1st semester going? Do you think it's possible to work while in nursing school so far? I work as a CNA at sutter right now and am hoping I'll be able to keep my job part time vs going down to per diem

I know some people pull it off but most aren't able to. I won't say it's not possible, because there are some people who do it, but very very difficult.
I would recommend maybe having time off or just working a day a week the first couple weeks of school, to see if you are able to handle it or not, if possible.

Thank you for answering! Yeah I definitely want to be realistic about what I can expect.
Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are your typical days in school? Is it Mon-Fri or are some days off?

NP!
Depends on if you are an even or odd section. Even sections have class/clinical M-Th. Odds have Class/clinical M-Th but with Tuesday off. For the first 4 weeks, because clinical will not have started, Evens will also have Tuesdays off and Odds Wednesdays off but you have more school work the first 4 weeks as they prep you for clinical so they're not really "off".

You're never really free in nursing school if I'm honest, there's always something you should be doing. I rarely have free time, even on weekends, and I don't work or have additional responsibilities outside school.

Edit: Odds have Class/clinical M-F but with Tuesday off.
