Hi guys,
I am applying to the traditional BSN for the second time with these stats:
Mine vs Average GPA of admitted students in Spring 2024
Science: 4.0 vs 3.94
GE: 3.46 vs 3.95
TEAS Composite: 96.7% vs 91.3%
TEAS Reading: 92.3% vs 90.2%
----->>> IMPACT SCORE: 9.51 VS 9.545
Impact Score Formula: (Science GPA) + (Gen ED GPA/2) + (TEAS Overall x .02) + (TEAS Reading x .02)
I understand CSULB School of Nursing does not take clinical experience into consideration, but I do have some as an ER volunter and EMT. I've also shadowed ER Nurses to enlarge my perspective as a student nurse and gain my appreciation for this profession.
I hope that I will make it this Spring since this is my last shot to get into my dream school, "I gotta capture it and can't let it slip away" (just like the guy who rapped about vomit and sweaters).
For all of you guys who are working hard to get into this school, I genuinely wish that you would get admitted. Don't be shy to share your stats below!

Hi guys! I was just wondering if anyone has submitted their supplemental application (I am aware it just opened today) but does anyone know what to use for their login on the website? Goodluck to everyone applying!

Nevermind!! For some reason when I looked at the website yesterday it was asking for a specific login ID and password. It's fixed now.

The only classes that I thought should be used for it are Oral Comms, Written Comms, Critical Thinking, and Stats! I was wondering how you got a 3.46 as your GPA! Maybe you have a higher score than anticipated since the + or - on grades don't count for CSULB. Sorry if this is a dumb question I just want to make sure I am calculating things correctly for my friends and stuff TT

Hi Stuart,
You are calculating it right. I have 2 Bs, so my GE GPA is low.

Got, it! Thank you so much! And don't give up hope. My friends had very similar impact scores to last Spring and although they were waitlisted at first, they ended up getting in the program! I know a few others who had similar scores and also got into the fall cohort!

Thank you for the support! I hope to see you in Nursing school this Spring. Since your impact score is A tier, I am not competing against you for the seat or the waitlist spot. I would be appreciate if you could share about your friends' experience with the communication interview (or via email [email protected] if you're comfortable).

Hey everyone,
I'm a current pre-nursing student at CSULB and I just finished applying to the School Of Nursing for Spring 2025. Science GPA: 4.0
GE GPA: 3.8
(Got a B in Public Speaking in High School)
TEAS composite: 98.0%
TEAS reading: 100.0%
(I took the TEAS twice, first score was a 89% because I tanked the math section)
Impact score: 9.86
I look forward to going on this admissions process with all of you!

Hello! I'm retaking my TEAS and I'm wondering what you used to score so high on the exam? Especially reading?

Ofc! They said it wasn't really hard. The questions are similar to "when have you faced adversity?" or "what was a time you advocated?" I've heard it is just to see how you articulate yourself and isn't meant to be too stressful. My friend said to know the general understanding of what you want to say so you aren't caught off guard.
