California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) MSN Fall 2022

Starting a chat for everyone who applied to the CSULB MSN Fall 2022 programs. I am applying for the FNP track and just got an invitation for the on-campus interview and writing assessment today. I have 2 years of medsurge & 2 years of MS, Neuro, Neurotrauma ICU experience. Pretty nervous about the interview. Hope to meet everyone in April!

I thought the questions were pretty straight-forward. The writing prompts were... fine... but I thought they'd be more related to healthcare. I'm not sure if I'm a big fan of the group interview format. I feel like if you're at a disadvantage if you have a shy personality. Although it makes sense they'd want to see how you interact in a group and how you can set yourself apart. I know the email stated May 4th as the decision date, but I also heard different things from my friends who interviewed (FNP). How did you all do?

I applied to the FNP program and in  my group interview they asked each person only 1 question. I hated the writing prompts though.

In my interview, we each answered a different question but only one each.

Do you guys know when they should get back to us ? I know  the date is May 4 but I have a feeling that it might be earlier than that?

They said possibly as early as next week.

Did anyone else get an email with your financial aid package, and information on how to accept the financial aid, etc. I’m hoping that’s a good sign, but maybe they sent that to everyone who applied

I didn't ? which program did you apply? Were you a previous CSULB student?

I did the FASFA because other schools I applied to asked me to fill it out, but I just checked self service application and It changed from under review to accepted  for acute care NP!

My application status still says Complete for both CSULB & LA. I was accepted at CSULA and it hasn't changed ?

It wasn’t on the cal state apply app where it changed it was through the Long Beach applicant portal
