What accreditation to look for?

Hi all,

When looking for a nursing program, what are the criteria to finding ones that are accredited? I want to apply for LVN- RN program.

I am in northern Calif. - not as many school available as in SoCal.

Do they have to be NIH (Nat'l Institute of Health) accredited? What other accreditation should they have? Does accreditation differ by state, or is it the same nationwide? Any help appreciated, it's confusing out there! :monkeydance: :banghead:

first go to http://www.dca.ca.gov look for either the board of registered nursing or board LVN and psych techs. Both websites list approved educational programs. With rn programs look for lnl or ccne accreditation which will make it possible to get licensed in other states.Jeremy
