California Nursing Schools

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

I am a first year Pre-Nursing Student at California State University San Marcos. I will be applying in the fall, but will not be admitted until the summer of 2015(if I get in). Our program is one of the hardest to get into because of how impacted it is. To give you an idea, they receive around 600 applications and accept 40 students. We are advised to have a plan B incase we are not admitted. My plan is to apply to other nursing schools in the area to increase my chances. I am open to private schools as well. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for Souther California Nursing schools or to give me some insight on how they went about getting their RN. Thanks and I hope to hear your stories!

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

I applied to as many CSUs as I could feasibly attend. That was my big plan of action. Cast as wide a net as possible.

Did you notice which CSUs seemed to be easier to be admitted to?

They all have different criteria, so it really depends on what ones you have met or did well in. Some weight the sciences heavier, some the TEAS, etc. I had an easier time getting into schools with a veteran preference! :) That certainly doesn't apply to everyone.
