California NICU

U.S.A. California

I'm new around here, so someone please let me know if this should be posted in a different area. I'm moving to San Diego in the next three months and would like some guidance as to where to work. I really only want to work NICU, and I am wondering if where the best level III and above NICUs are in the San Diego area.

I am open to working elsewhere, but definitely prefer peds and/or nicu to anything else. Where are good places to look in San Diego? What hospitals are good to work for?

Also, I have been trying to find a pay scale as to about what wage I would start at, I have just over two years of experience. I mostly want to know so I can look for housing in the appropriate house range.

Any other tips and info is welcome!!!!

As far as where to work, peds is not my specialty so I'm not familiar where the level 3 NICUs are, nor whether it'd be a good NICU to work in.

However, there's Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Children and Rady Children's Hospital, and I'm sure either/both has a higher level NICU. You could also check Sharp Grossmont--I think they have a birthing center.

UCSD has a NICU that I've heard decent things about. Naval Medical Center Balboa also has a NICU. Kaiser and Scripps are the other major hospital chains, and I'm sure there's NICUs there as well.
