Hello,

I am a recent grad from Miracosta community college. Hoped to attend their ADN nursing program but was not accepted-TEAS score not great. Anyway, I got accepted at CBU and will start this Fall-I will have all my prereqs fulfilled by end of Summer (taking my last class-Chem 104 in the Summer at Palomar community college) and retaking my TEAS either before or after Summer classes. Anyway, I am planning to apply to Spring 2022 BSN cohort-Nursing school (a road I would not have thought I would be on a year ago... straight to BSN seems better in the long run since most cali hospitals hire nurses with BSN over ADN's), wanted to see if their are other individuals who are either in the program now, planning to apply, or have been recently accepted that can answer a few of my questions. I wanted to know what the average TEAS score is acceptable to get into the program. I read 78% which I feel confident I can pass with second time around. I read somewhere regarding points... is it based on a point system and if so is it really necessary to take medical terminology, any who have? Curious what GPA you have that got you into the program. I do have a really good GPA and all A's in my core science classes, have prior work experience (worked at children's hospital), have my EMR cert and BLS cert, have an Associates degree, a veterans wife, probably fall into a few more brackets. I just wondered if the chances of getting in are tough? What is this early registration mean- I read somewhere automatic interview? Why is their an interview on top of all of this (this I had not heard before)? Thanks for your help if anyone decides to answer. Would be nice to have a page utilized for CBU pre-nursing and nursing students to just get more personal info, opinion, suggestions since we are the ones working towards this journey/dream and team work makes the dream work. ?

Hi,

Good GPA, and high in theScience section. Ended up taking Medical Terminology, have 7+ years working in two hospitals (healthcare experience), veteran wife (if that matters-seems it does in other schools), first in family to attend college, volunteered with a church, have an EMR cert. Still low TEAS score-Passing and Proficient though-got 78.7% in science section on TEAS (I saw they look at the score mainly). Lot of life experiences. They take a holistic approach when selecting is what I read. Not just looking at one thing. Did you apply, what are your stats? Hope you got in!!
