Good day everyone!
hope you could help me out with my confusion. I received my eligibility letter ( California) last January 7, 2008. that means it would turn 2 years this January 7, 2010 and expire if not taken right?
unfortunately i wasn't able to register earlier with pearson vue due to financial concerns. PleaSE do correct me if what i had in mind is wrong:
>>I need to register with pearson vue as soon as possible & test Nclex around December. If ever, i'll receive my ATT in a few days now ( which they say is valid for a year from the date of issuance), still the only option left for me is to test by december before the 2 year validity ends.
therefore, the one year validity of my ATT upon the date of issuance in a few days now would be insignificant right?
please do help me out...
thanks a lot.
anyone please enlighten me..thanks..

If you post late at night US time, you need to be patient until someone replies.
My answer would be that although you're right and your eligibility will time out, it doesn't matter in any case, since you can't get a CA license without a SSN.

You can take the exam and have your results forwarded to a state that doesn't require a ss#. Some don't require a ss# to get your license but some do require you to have one by the time the renewal up. Do some searching on this board, there are many threads on this issue. Good Luck

Hi Sephine! I don't think you have to take the exam by December, the timeframe that you can take the exam would be what is indicated on your ATT. When you schedule your exam, it is usually through the phone, so perhaps it wouldn't hurt if you try calling them first to confirm on the timeframe you can sit the exam. But from my understanding when I also took nclex, you can have your schedule anytime within a year as shown on your ATT which will also give you additional information. God bless!
oh... that means though my elgibility letter reached its 2 year validity, what really matters and should be considered is the att validity which is about a year for california right?
my letter expires by Jan.8, 2010. but considering the att validity this time ( which I'm yet to register), I have the option to sit the exam until around December 2010 right?
yep, that's correct.. you can disregard the date of eligibility once you have the new timeframe from the ATT.. my ATT was emailed, so you can track yours that easily..
Thanks a lot everyone especially to ms. ziggyly!
everything's clear now....
