Took NCLEX today and computer shutoff 75 questions. I am confused and came home with a headache. There were 30 survey questions at the end. So many SATA and I was not sure of the answers. I started at 2pm Friday February 23rd and finished by 4pm. I tried the PVT and got to payment section. So I don't know what to make of it. I got an email from Pearson vue stating after the examination I may have questions. Quick results states result not available. I guess I will wait till Monday to find out. I just thought I might have to get up to 100+ questions to be in good standing or passing. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

The number of questions you receive does not determine whether you pass or not. You can pass/fail at 75 as well as pass/fail at 265 questions. If your card declined/accepted the payment, that means it's the bad pop up (fail). The good pop up would say "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." If your state does not participate in quick results, the fastest way I found out was to check your state board of RN website to verify your license. Good luck!

I walked into taking my NCLEX on Friday 2/16 thinking I would get 75 questions because several of my classes were passing at 75... WRONG. I got the full 265! IT. WAS. BRUTAL. I advise not to have ANY expectations of getting 75, prepare for the 265 and the possibility of sitting for 5+ hours.
After the exam I felt defeated. I called my husband on the way home to vent and was confident that I failed. I asked him to do the PVT for me since he was near a computer. He submitted the payment and it initially stated that I couldn't schedule an exam because I had an "open" registration. It wasn't the "good pop up" nor the "bad pop up" and I was confused as to what it meant. One minute later, I got the confirmation email from Pearson Vue stating that my exam had been delivered (about 20 minutes after taking the NCLEX). My husband resubmitted the payment and I got the GOOD POP UP. So I don't think you have to wait the full 24 hours to do the PVT, as long as you receive the email stating your results have been delivered.
Saturday 2/17 at 10am - Good pop up.
Saturday 2/17 at 11pm - Good pop up.
Sunday 2/18 at 11am - Good pop up.
My classmates have been getting their results within 48 hours on business days. Since I took my test on a Friday 2/16 and today is Monday 2/19 (President's day), I assume I will not be getting my results until Wednesday 2/21. The state of CA does not participate in Quick Results.
I haven't heard of anyone getting a false positive yet. I will give an update once I get my official results!!!
