Hi everyone,
I am in my last semester of nursing school and I am worried about not being able to find a job after graduating. I've heard it can take 6 month to 1 year to find an RN position after graduating (which I've accepted), but I'm just worried because other students in my class have extern positions or nurse assistant positions at hospitals currently, while I don't have any healthcare experience beyond volunteering and my clinical experience. I live in a pretty remote area with limited medical access, so it makes it difficult to find any kind of work (not just healthcare work) without driving about 100 miles per day (I don't mean to sound like I'm making excuses, I definitely should have been more proactive). As it's my last semester, my time is pretty taken up by preceptorship and classes already. I figured it anything, I can work as a CNA post-graduating while I am applying for jobs. Has anyone found it much more difficult to find an acute-care job (preferably in a hospital) as an RN in CA with no previous healthcare experience? I will be graduating with my BSN in May. Thanks in advance!
