CA BRN Licensure by examination

Hello Everyone,

I will be graduating from an ABSN program (NAU) in early May and will be relocating back to California. Upon calling the BRN I have received 3 wildly different answers for how to most efficiently license by exam (regarding when to apply). Does anyone have experience with applying from out of state and know when the best time to apply is to avoid a deficiency notice (they review your app without transcripts attached)? I am hoping to be licensed by early August to apply for new grad residencies there. Thanks for any information!
