Hello all,
I attended a nursing workshop at butte college today and I wanted to share the current stats on the lottery selection (i.e your percent chances of getting selected per time you re-apply).
1st time: 2%
2nd time: 3%
3rd time: 4%
4th time: 5%
5th time: 6%
6th time: 15%
7th time: 65%
Hope that is a help to some of you out there!

Wow, I haven't taken stats for awhile, but that seems like quite a jump from the 6th to the 7th time! Any idea why that is?
That is ok, stats by themselves won't explain the numbers. It seems as though Butte College rewards persistence in nursing enrollment. Since they use a lottery system, it would seem logical that they give multiple applicants extra entries in the lottery. Therefore, the more times you apply, the more entries you get, increasing your chance of success.
Since many applicants apply to multiple schools, the number of re-applying students drops due to acceptance in other schools. This reduces the number of 5,6 and 7 time applicants thus increasing the probability of success for those that persist.
Thank you Whitney for the comprehensive answer. Have you applied to Butte? How many times?

Trying not to get butt hurt about not being selected because I'm a first time applicant. í ½í¸ But those who wait longer sure do deserve the spot!
