To those of you who are taking/took Kaplan's Nclex-RN Online Course:
What "Question Reuse Mode" did you use for QBank?
All items?
unused only?
incorrect only?
unused + incorrect?
Also, "Test Content"
all?
specific categories? (there are 4)
I'm finding my scores vary considerably, depending on which I choose. Ideally, they should be pretty much the same, I guess. Does it really matter?
Thanks for your help.
i'm thinking that it may not really matter. i've been mixing them up.

I continued to use any incorrect or unused until I got em right. Then in the end (last week or so) I was up for using all, since it had been long enough where those I'd gotten correct were new to me again.
On the Question Trainers I seemed to have most difficulty w/ the Physiological Integrity and one other one (you'll see that by checking the box on the left, it checks "sub"boxes to the right). So I forced myself to continue work those questions until I got em right, much as I wanted to know the new questions.
Eventually I used all the questions in the Qbank and the day before my NCLEX, I finally finished and reviewed my 7th question trainer (i know we're supposed to let that day before be for relaxation, but I could NOT tear myself away).
My grades were anywhere from 23%-62% in the first month. By the last week I was testing 100-ish ?'s a day and making 70's and 80's. My last QT was 62%. I thought I was doomed.
Thurs morning I tested NCLEX at 9AM. At 10AM the computer shut off at 76 questions. I found out yesterday morning (Sat) that I passed!!

What great advice! Well, I'm off to Kaplan this am. Will try using incorrect & review rationales only. I'm weak in physiological integrity too and the maternity/peds section (under health & promotion maintenance)--so i'll just do them for now.
i'm in the 70s on my tests (that's after much studying) up from 50's to 60's. This was using "unused and incorrect" and all test content.
timing the qtrainers so that qt7 is taken shortly before the nclex is wise. i was planning to do that too. i've still got qt6 too.
your advice is very much appreciated!!!! you've put out the fire of my burning question! thanks!!!

I used the Unused questions most of the time. And then usually after I did 50-100 of them .. I would use the incorrect questions. Usually it just seemed like I was memorizing the incorrect ones so I found it kind of pointless to keep answering those questions.
went back to all items and all test content after all that. somehow i didn't do too well this morning---arrrgghh...
congrats luv2shopp85! you did pass, right?
ok, well, any other tips would be super.
thanks.
Yes I did pass!!
And the only reason I did use the incorrect questions was that I felt like I wasn't doing enough questions or I was having a good day and wanted to do some more.
But 90% of the time I was using the unused questions.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M so happy for you ...Congratulation:balloons::balloons::balloons: thanks alot for your great tips.
Oh and with the specific categories.. I always just checked them all. At one point I looked at my cummulative score and saw that I was in the 40% for one of them so I went and did 20 questions in that area. But that was rather useless for me.
Eventually I went to my weak places and forced myself to confront them. So much easier to be able to get the higher grades on the exams where I was stronger, but that was not beneficial. Took some discipline to force myself to crack down on my weaker areas. I realized (DUH!) that this wasn't being graded for school. Wow, all those years certainly do condition us! But it was for my eyes only, and my own good to crack down on my weak areas, review the rationales and get em right!
So eventually I maxed out the unused questions, and had to keep repeating q's. I would work and work the "unused and incorrect" Then towards the end, I incorporated the correct questions again, since it'd been awhile and they were new at that point. Good to know I hadn' t forgotten what I'd learned from all those hours.
thanks for the great tips!!!!
it just gives me that extra push to keep doing what i'm doing!
