Burlington County College Spring 2013 does anyone know what schedule I should expect?

Published

Hello all! I have been reading threads on allnurses.com for over 4 months and find them useful and so helpful. Wondering if anyone is waiting or has heard on status of applications for the BCC 2013 nursing program? I have had all of my prerequisites done since May 2012 and sitting out fall 2012 semester just waiting....hoping....wishing to get in to the program for January 2013. The waiting game is HORRIBLE!!!!!! Any help, advice and insights anyone can provide as to what kind of schedule I can expect is most appreciated. Also, if anyone has any of the PowerPoint presentations for NUR 119 and 120 that you are willing to share, they too would be very helpful. I am trying to get ahead as much as possible while remaining hopeful and positive to be accepted in to the spring program. Looking forward to threads and getting to know some of my fellow nursing friends.

Congratulations! I also registered for 119-400. I can only do evenings. There is a lot to get done. There is a form due November 9th...just a reminder for you to mail it in.

Did you take the nursing administration class? I took it over the summer and passed but am hoping it is still good for NUR119.

Good luck to you!

Congratulations Everyone! I'm a senior in BCC's Nursing Program. I graduate in a little over 2 weeks (Yay!) This is an amazing and challenging program! You all can and will do well just make sure you have your priorities straight and make sure you continue to stay focused. This is one of the best things I've done in my lifetime. You are gonna meet some great instructors and fellow students. Try to open up yourselves up especially to your clinical group! You are not in this alone! What you may miss another one has heard and vise versa. All clinical groups start with 10 nursing students. I believe because of my groups bond and how we readily share information 9 out of 10 students from 119 are graduating next month! We only lost 1 and that was in 119! That is unheard of! Most groups have around 5 or 6 original 119ers. Anyways, come eager to learn and listen to what ******** says in class! She's great btw! Study study study (preferably together)!GOOD LUCK! ;)I entered in Spring 2010 and had daytime clinicals. The great thing about daytime clinicals is that you have a lot more opportunities for caring for patients because they are well...AWAKE, lol. Night time clinicals are ok from what I've heard but not as much to do....

Many congratulations!!!! That is super awesome. Sounds like all of your hard work has paid off. I remember reading your posts in anticipation of your first semester and to see that you have the same amount of enthusiasm is promising for those of us just getting started. You have always been helpful in all if your posts. I have been able to be well prepared because of reading all of your tips and tricks....just hoping I survive the next 4 semesters. I am nervous but anxious to get started. I hope you continue to check and reply to this site. Celebrate - you deserve it!!!!!

Thanks Honey!!!! I promised myself that I would come back and offer any information I could. You have to keep a positive attitude even when under pressure. A great attitude really goes a long way not only in school and clinicals but also in your job hunt! That's really why you are in school. Just give nursing school your all. Study! No regrets....Go into those test striving for a 100%. And you'll come out on top!

Enjoy your time off for the moment. :) The time really does fly by quickly!

Thank you Shannon. You were even helpful when I spoke to you a month or so ago. People that give as much as you do will be blessed with receiving it back three fold. You're right....positive attitude really does, go a long way. The hardest is getting started and I know once I get in to my first class with each of the labs, lecture and clinicals, my nerves will subside. I am going to definitely give it my all. My husband and daughters are pushing me, supportive and have promised to step up to the plate with the house stuff, which is a huge help and will reduce my anxiety and stress. Please continue to check back!!!!!

Congrats on making it into the program!!! It's amazing! You are going to learn so much and ***** rocks!!! I will say that before the semester starts you should start your readings for both lab and lecture. Also I started my drug cards and the worksheets in the syllabus. I was so thankful I did because in lab the worksheets are assigned as homework (100% if completed counts as 1 quiz grade) it was really nice to not have any extra work on top of all the readings. Make sure you stay ahead of the game study study it will pay off in the end!!!

Thank you for all the great tips. I was thinking exactly the same which is why i did all of my worksheets, drug cards and my 2 page paper. I have been reading Nugent's Test Taking Skills for Beginner Nurses to help teach me to understand critical thinking and help me with my tests and in the long run, the NCLEX. As soon as I am done I will get started with my lecture and lab readings. I want to be as far ahead as possible. There is SO much prep work - unbelievable. I feel bad and can't imagine those that are waiting until the last minute to get all of the prep work/stuff done. I get scared thinking about it and can't imagine.
