Bucks County CC RN Program

I am currently in my second semester in the RN program at BCCC. Lab/lecture is usually done on the same day, but as you get into Nursing 2, 3 & 4 the class/clinical schedule rotates on a 5 week schedule. You also have to go to campus on other days to fulfill skill sign offs with a lab professor. Honestly, I know a lot of people trying to work full-time, kids, families, etc - it comes down to time management. In our orientation they explain that you need to cut the things that don't matter as much out of your schedule and they were right. Nursing school comes first for me, because I want to finish within the 2 year timeframe to get my ADN.

But to summarize, usually class and lab are together all on one long day, then clinical on another. For the first year they are 8 hour clinical days, then 12 for the last year. But expect to have commitments on other days on campus to complete requirements. You will be able to work, as long as you really focus and use your time wisely. ?

I’m still completing my pre-reqs at Montcl, but I def want to figure out now which local programs I’ll apply to.

If you can get into the MCCC program, I’d probably just stick with that school though. It’s a good program, my cousin got her associates in nursing there. You’d end up paying a lot of money for out of county tuition to come to Bucks. The first year of the nursing core classes - just the two nursing courses are 12 credits all together and the last year the two classes are 18 credits total. But if it means starting the nursing program earlier, then I guess you could weigh the options.
