What state do you plan to work in after graduation?
As you may already know if you have read the many topics, up to 13-14 States as of this point, are rejecting the PH applicants due to not meeting the concurrency requirements (educational). If the CHED and all the supporting schools come into compliance soon, then, maybe there's a good shot of getting the ATT.
Besides the ease of getting into a PH nursing school and the much lower cost to attend, it does come at a higher price after graduation in that the chances of passing the NCLEX-RN is less than 50%, chances of getting hired is not that good (US hospitals are preferring to hire ones that did their clinicals in their facilities, better networking, etc).
One glaring thing is many if not most US hospitals with new grad programs, almost excludes those coming in from overseas: as to be considered a new grad, one must have applied within the first year of their graduation date/year, not the time one passes the NCLEX. CA (and the other 13 or so states) is currently not going to happen unless the PH courses are in compliance very soon.
So with that in mind, other accepting states it will take several months to almost a year to get thru all the paperwork (course evaluations, English testing and writing exams, etc), guess what? Your one year period to apply into a new grad program is almost up and you still need to pass the NCLEX exam the first time or the application is not valid.
Read of how many current PH passers have obtained a real hospital job here in this forum, if working in a hospital your most desired job preference. You should know the demand for PH nurses is virtually gone till probably 2020, but that might change to later years with so many US educated nurse ahead of you now and later.
thanks for the reply, planing to work in Texas
