BSN Program at ECU

Published

Hi, I am a second degree student and I am trying to get into the program at East Carolina University for Spring 2015. Right now it looks like I will have 11 points on the scale however I scored below 50 on one section of the PAX however I did score far above average in the other sections. Do I have a decent chance at getting in? Also if you have not completed A&P II will they still give you the 2 points not having any repeats? Does anyone know what the avg gpa for spring? I am working on getting my CNA does anyone have any other pointers?

Thanks

I was told that the average was around 10 or 11 for getting in Spring semester at ECU. I'm applying also and also have an 11! As long as you do not have any repeats, then yes you get the two points. BUT you have to be registered for anatomy's 1150, 1151, 2111, and 2110 at the time of applying if you haven't finished those. They like it when you score over 50 in all sections on the NLN Pax, but mostly they look at GPA. Becoming a CNA was a lot of work, but completely worth it, I work as one now. That will give you extra points if you have that when you apply also. I think you have a decent chance of getting in! But it can be unpredictable, so who knows! I'm so nervous and stressed about the whole thing. I wish you good luck, and maybe if they take all the 11's we'll both be in nursing school soon!

I have a question about ECU's ABSN program. One part of the website said that the science courses should be within the last five years. Is this true? Unfortunately I graduated w/ my BA in 2006 and would have to take some science courses over if so :( Good Luck to all!

Hi Mellah! Not sure if you found the answer to your question but yes, you must complete those specified science courses within the last five years. I graduated back in 2002 and was not looking forward to retaking chem and micro but I eventually decided to apply to the standard BSN program. No retakes and a lot less stress!!
