BSN 2023 - Douglas College

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone,

I got a conditional seat offer for the Winter 2023 Intake which starts in January for Douglas College which is in Vancouver, BC! I finished my pre-requisites back in Dec 2021, I have just been working fulltime since... then I applied in Feb 2022 for the Winter intake (for 2023.) Didn't think I would get in as the waitlists are pretty long, but here I am 4 mos after I applied writing this! My GPA was quite high, it was around the 3.89 range which may have helped with my admission. I also heard that they did change the admission requirements recently as well so I'm sure this factored into my conditional offer.

Anyways, just posting this for anyone who may be joining in the Winter next year. It would be nice to meet up and get to know some of the people in my cohort beforehand! I was very lucky and blessed to have a solid study group in my first year. I also became close friends with some of them. I would even say I owe a lot of my success to my classmates. They helped me a ton during my foundational year. Hoping to foster the same kind of group here.

Thanks and see you all sooon!

Hey! Congrats! I just got an email about being waitlisted! If you don't mind me asking, is this your first time applying? Or have you applied to the previous semesters too?

Hey! I have my fingers crossed for ya! This is my first time applying. I finished my pre-reqs in Dec 2021 and then I applied Feb 2022 - just heard back last week on Thurs/Fri.

Does anyone know when the mandatory orientation is for the Winter 2023 intake?

We'll probably hear about it at the end of the month. I got this email the other day:
