BSN Acceptance Question- Emory

Published

Hey guys, so I am applying for Fall 2015 BSN at Emory, KSU, Mercer, GSU, Piedmont, and probably a few others. I am finished up all of my pre-req's next semester. I took Statistics about 6 years ago when I was a freshman and not a very good student. Luckily, I turned that around and now have a good GPA, but not before I made a C- in Statistics. I know that a C- doesn't fulfill the requirement for Statistics at any school, and I am planning on retaking it in the Spring, however, I realize I probably should have retaken it this semester so that the schools would have my new grade in the course at the time of my application. I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and what the outcome was?

Here are my other grades:

A&P1: A

A&P2: A

Chem 1151: A

Org. Chem: A

Bio 101: A

Math1101: A

Intro to Psych: A

Human Growth and Development: A

Abnormal Psych: A

Intro to Sociology: B

I also expect to have great recommendations from science professors. I am really anxious that they will simply throw out my application because of my C- even though I have plans to retake it to make up for that grade... Any thoughts or advice is welcome!

One C isn't going to kill you. I applied to and got in to emory, GSU, and mercer. Happy to answer any questions you might have. And the emory amazing financial aid myth is just that. (This is coming from someone with a 0 EFC and 4.0 math/science GPA)
