Brown Mackie Merrillville

Published

Hi, I just came from taking my assement test at Brown Mackie (wasn't even hard). and they said that it would be 3-4 months before I actually start the program. I was wanted to know if anyone has been to this school. I've done alot of research about it but I can't seem to find anyone who is currently in the program or has already graduated. I just wanted to know about the experience, and what you're doing now. Did you still work full time while going to school, stuff like that :nurse:

Two years ago the tuition was $26,000. They were really interested in the financial aid I could get. I chose Ivy Tech for my ASN degree because they are accredited, credits transfer to any other college or university, and they have a very good pass rate and nclex rate, and Ivy tech costs about $9,000. I had to wait 1 semester to be accepted, but it was worth it.

i attend brown mackie merrillville...the program is challenging and the tuition is high, 26k. they have their initial accreditation by the indiana board of nursing. the nclex pass rates are low and they are at risk for losing the accreditation. my plan is to obtain my lpn license and transfer to a 4yr university for my bsn, im prepared to do the 3 years, but at least i will be able to work.

hope this helps!

you can transfer a state license however you will have to take extra classes to make up the A&P and others so that you have enough credits. A friend of mine went to brown mackie then to Ancilla college she is now an RN. You CAN do the bridge at Ivy or Ancilla or even Bethel College, like i said you will have to repeat some classes due to the content and they will not accept the A&P and math and others. I went to brown mackie and now at Ivy my pre-reqs were done at Ivy so my license transfered and now all I have to do is chem and english the bridge and 3 RN classes. Do yourself a favor and do not listen to what people say go to the colleges Ivy, Ancilla and Bethel they will tell you.

good luck
