Ok here's the scoop I graduated from BCC Central in 06", I was 3 months pregnant with my second daughter when I started so I understand your anxiety. :uhoh3:

First you must STUDY 10-12 hours :specs: a day no joke if they say something more than once in class REMEMBER it! It's on the test. Get a tape recorder and tape lectures so you can go back and get test info. Saunders NCLEX get it:twocents:, ALOT of test questions come from the book as well as the CD for the whole program. KNOW your math; nobody wants to go to LPN school because you miss two math questions on the test. If you have Prof. Kantis your lucky she is a great resource, firm but willing to teach. You will REALLY learn a lot from her, and TRUST me once you get out with your RN you'll be thankful for all that she taught you. Remember you are learning a whole new way of thinking, it takes time, the best way to study is to get as many NCLEX prep books as you can and practice the questions, that will prepare you for what you will be excepted to understand. They want you to learn to think analytical. Also I personally LOVE the Incredible easy series :up:ie: med-surg, peds, mother baby, critical care they are on CD so you can practice the questions and review the rational. Reading the text can get over whelming  I know this is a nice way to break it up and know that you ARE understanding the material as well as how to process it. Good luck any other questions feel free to ask.

tabbycoley,

you are sooooo right!! I did the same same thing, I was 3 months pregnant when I started the program in south campus. And did the same thing, study study study... instead of the incredibly easy books I used REVIEWS and Rationales series for each topic (and I am studying those for my BSN).

I also loved the saunders comprehensive review, I used that for EVERY semester I was at BC.

congrats to you for your BSN, where did you go??? I am doing mine at FIU.

for school you should study the latest version, because the nclex always changed. For us, in 2007 they added "all that apply" type of questions..... and every 3 years the nclex changes, this year it will change again.

All I did was review the topics in the Learning Objectives packet we were required to purchase in the bookstore and matched the topics/objectives to pages in the chapter as well as powerpoint slides. Worked for me. I very rarely finished all reading and still manged an A in both Process 1 and 2 using this method

nlion87, I did that for NP1&NP2.... but read every word!! and looked at my saunder's book for questions that matched.

you are soooooo good for getting those A's in those classes!!

i brought the fundamental of nursing so far 6 ed.. i was trying to get the saunders but from what you all are saying that book needs to be the new edition... i was trying to by a used one.. it seems like that question and answer book is the key!!!! to passing can someone email the link for the book on amazon.. there were so many to pick from

This is the latest version.

FOR nursing school, it's ok to use an old version of the book--- because the answers and questions never change... the new versions have stuff added to them.

when I was in school I had the latest version, and then a new version came out -- the only difference was that it had color pages instead of only b&w pages.

If I were starting again and knowing what I know now, I would just buy old versions of a bunch of books so I have lots of questions to practice from when I get to the books.
