Broward College starting Jan 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Have been hearing that BC will be requiring math prerequisite and may be dropping Chemistry pre-req for nursing program for students starting Jan 2013. Please post any specific information you have received from the school. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The people on the phone are not exactly sure what's going to happen.

Its EMAIL TIME!!!!!! :)

Got my email! Thank you, Jesus!!! :D

Once you get your e-mail, be ABSOLUTELY SURE to reply to it before October 22nd saying that you will attend. If you don't, it is considered a forfeited seat. :)

See ya'll in November!

Just another note: I had a friend who went to school for sonography. She said that academically she wasn't very good, but what really made her stand out was that when it came to everything "hands on" she was the best.

If anyone didn't get through because of grades or scores, don't give up! Keep pushing and you will be able to make it!

prev. medical errors (hsc0692) isnt offered at bc before jan???

The only one offered says "Course completely online. Meets req. for admit to health science programs for Radtech, Medical Asst and Dental Hygiene only. Stud should log-in first week of semester and read syllabus. Certificate of attendance will be mailed upon successful completion of all cs materials. If unable to access cs, please email [email protected] or http://mgiovann.blogspot.com "

HSC 0692 Prevention of Medical Errors - 2 contact hrs

how are we supposed to take it.........

I know there are shady online sites that say you can get certified, but i guess ill wait to hear back from chinara

You might have to hit up Miami Dade College

I literally just opened my certificate for Prevention of Medical Errors online today, having finished it within the last week. I took it online at BC and it should still be there for this semester. Try CAE0617. That is one that hasn't been transferred into a HSC version yet. You should be able to sign up no problem. I had originally signed up for all of the certs in-person except for Prev. of Med. Errors because it was the only one that wasn't at the south campus lol. Last week, I changed all of them to online and did them the next day. I did all of my certifications in the last 2 weeks. I did 3 of em in a day off from work online. :)

SoulVain were exactly did you sign up for those classes? was it at B.C or some were else? and how much do they cost?

I signed up through MyBC registration page. :) Head to Add/Drop under Registration and use the course IDs (ABC1234) to find the classes. I suggest the online ones because they are flexible.

I removed the ref ID for BLS because mine already ended (Last thursday and friday from 5:30pm-9:30pm at BC Central) and BLS is the only one that MUST be taken in person. Typing in HSC0405 should give you new options. :) These are directly copied from my tuition for this semester.

So I've been selected as an alternate pending. Does anyone know my chances of being picked are, how many ppl turn down their seat each semester?

Is someone didn't sign up for those classes before Fall semester started, then that person might have a problem. Most classes are full, and only particular prof. can let in an additional person.

If I were in a possition where I didn't sign I would look for alternative option other than BC. However, you can still talk to the registration and prof. bc some people could drop. If you will not take classes as YourSoulVain listed above, you will not be allowed to start in January, and let people that are pending to take your place.
