I MUST WARN YOU ABOUT BROWARD COLLEGE NURSING PROGRAM!!! Do not attend the Nursing program at Broward College North campus. STAY FAR AWAY!! I went there and it was a nightmare. I had 101 students in my class and only 20 students made it to GI/GU (Med Surg 1). People at Nova Southeastern, from Broward College, even Dean from another Nursing program told me to stay away... Did I listen?... No! I wasted a whole entire year in the program, and transferred to another program (Miami Dade College), graduated, now completing my RN-BSN at Nova Southeastern University. Broward College North campus only 17 out of 100 of the original students graduated (they took pictures... if you want I can show you). WOW! only 17 students that are not re-trackers graduated.
BROWARD COLLEGE NORTH CAMPUS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART. You have to study everyday, and teach yourself all of the material. C is the new A in this program, and professors write their own test... so whatever they say goes. I must warn all Nurses to be careful when choosing a nursing program. Listen when people tell you before your dreams come crashing down. Some of the Faculty are really rude and condescending. I was called "Crazy" for asking a question in class. They will tell you that if you cry, fail a class, then you are not meant to be a nurse. Please again, do your research before attending a nursing program. You do not want to know how many people in the RN generic program at Broward College North campus failed, Withdraw, or received an incomplete. The medication tests for each rotation you can only get 1 question wrong, most of us passed because you get the point if a good percentage gets the same question wrong. NIGHTMARE!!!! I was so stressed, depressed, and lost so much weight. My parents told me I should see somebody to vent. lol. Most of the students in the Nursing program at Broward College told me they are taking anxiety pills to help lessen the stress of exams and clinical. It was awful! I do not have to take anything to pass my nursing classes at Miami Dade College, and Nova Southeastern University.
If you decide to attend this campus "Do not make any mistakes in Clinical/ return Demo". A guy failed clinical at Broward College North campus because he lowered the patient bed after the patient told him not to. The Instructor failed him. We learned in the Lab that you always lower the patient bed before leaving the room. Reality of Broward College Nursing program.
To explain: At Broward College North Campus, re-trackers are students who failed at least 1 class, clinical, rotation medication examination, or return demonstration. When you fail you are 6 months behind ( which equals One semester). You have to take SLS, Skills review class, and retake the course you failed before continuing to the next rotation. You fail another class, then you are out. Please check reviews students put about professors, and clinicals instuctors on RATEMYPROFESSOR. The truth is there. The examinations are nothing like Miami Dade college, Nova Southeastern University, or even Barry University nursing exams. Broward College North campus exams are intense, hard, nothing that was taught in class, harder than the NCLEX. Some people passed with a C... if lucky. The program is two years in length and you graduate with an ASN degree. Broward College students get jobs after they graduate because hospitals know how intense, stressful, anxiety inducing the program is compared other nursing programs.
My History:
-Completed Prerequisites at Florida Atlantic University 3.8 GPA

Process 2 Failed D (failed by 2 points)

Pharmacology A

PEDS Failed (Failed by 1 point)
*NO SUCH THING AS EXTRA CREDIT OR NO ASSIGNMENTS FOR GRADES,
EXAMS ARE 75 QUESTIONS ONLY 85 minutes to complete. Finals 100 questions Culmulative. PEDS YOU HAVE LESS TIME TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.
*After you fail two courses you get kicked out of Nursing school. You can not get accepted into any Nursing Schools anywhere in Florida unless you go to LPN school.
I got my LPN license, and transferred to Miami Dade College where I completed/graduated Associate in Nursing degree. Passed the NCLEX 1st time taking it and now attending Nova Southeastern University RN-BSN program (Graduating this semester). I work part-time at a hospital in Med Surg unit. If you are meant to be a nurse, then go for it. Hard work pays off, but do not go anywhere and WASTE TIME, and MONEY because they do not care about your success. I wish all Future NURSES THE BEST!!

You might want to change your picture and user name to something more generic that cannot identify you. Online forums are anonymous! For very good reason. Have you not read the legal situation statement at the top of the page?
