Broward College hopeful for May 2013 Nursing Program

Published

I know there is a lot of confusion going around with the new requirements for the BC nursing program so I wanted to start a thread for those of us finishing prerequisites and applying in January. I'm in the Core class now, but other than that I'm finished with everything else and getting very excited to start next year!

I did. Also just got an email with driving directions.

Yeah, I got that email too. How much was the book? I'm going to stop by the bookstore tomorrow.

For both book and valve it was around $20.

Ok thanks :)

I go to Central Campus for classes this semester for some "making time pass" classes right now. Everyday I see the Nursing students pass in their bright blue scrubs and I can't wait to be one of them. I still can't believe that I've made it :)

I know it's going to be a challenging journey..but nothing worth having comes easily. I saw that the bookstore sold the Nurses hats..and it filled me with so much determination.

At this point I feel like a stock car sitting at the starting line with engines ready to go waiting for the flag....let's go!!!

I know exactly what you mean! Soo excited and nervous all at the same time. Preparing now is getting me really pumped up!

At this point I'm planning a vacation before it all begins, because once it does there will be no time for a long vacay! April 5th is almost here!! Then we'll be looking forward to the start of classes.

I agree...I think we will only get 2 weeks in between classes in August. Woo hoo

This forum has gotten awfully quiet...I think everyone is enjoying there time with friends and family before the ensuing chaos begins...

From the looks of it, out schedule is going to be crazy town. Pharmacology from 6-8pm on one day and clinicals from 0630 to 1830 T/W. I'm trying to figure out a plan for childcare for when my husband deploys during those times.

I'd love to get a first semester student to get on our forum and give us the low down on the schedule. Anyone have connections?

I agree, I think we're all trying to spend the little free time we have now with loved ones before the program starts. I know I have. I told my friends I'll be M.I.A for a while so I've been spending quality time with them. Lol Also my bf and I are planning a cruise :)

South schedule is pretty crazy too! Clinicals from 6:30am-6:30pm. Plus there's also a T/W clinical option, I believe 6:30pm-6:30am. Pharmacy is Friday from 1-3:30. I'm so excited to start, but also a little nervous. How's the pre-reading going for you guys?

There is a forum I've just been peeking on..it's the winter 2013 semester, but they really haven't been posting anything. You should take a look at it and ask them any questions you might have.

Ugh 6:30 am class!? I'm like 20 min drive from north campus I'm gonna have to get up at 5am if I want to get to this on time >_

12hr shift gonna be rough back to back. Doesn't give me much time to study for the next day. End up coming home eat, relax a bit, try to get some study done, then sleep for next 12hr shift

Yeah, it's going to be a looong day for clinicals. So I just realized we all have the same options for clinicals. Lolo So correct me if I'm wrong, is the T/W option a split day from Tuesday 18:30- Wednesday 6:30?

I've read that clinicals are T W for like 2 weeks then we get assigned one day a T or a W.

I just got accepted for the May 2013 LPN-RN transition program! Finally!!
