The program is great. The good thing about the new program is there's a shorter clinical day. Clinical is from 7-1 one day a week opposed to my two clinical days from 7:30-1:30. This gives you more time to be with your family. I also have a toddler I know how hard it can be. I would recommend is getting a saunders nclex book & a Nclex illustrated book. Some professors are great and other aren't you really have to be self motivated. Lecture is 4 hours of PowerPoint reading. YouTube is also a lifesaver. Online requires you to do discussion post and case studies
Yes Saturday is still available it varies not all clinical sites have Saturday clinical days. I'm in the Day program and I also work doing home health aide. Working as a home health gave me the flexibility I needed to survive the program. I have lecture on Monday and clinical Thursday and Friday. During the semester there's skills that have to be completed weekly. The skills are scheduled on your own time. I would recommend altering your work schedule for clinical and test out. I've seen people fail the program due to overworking.
Unfortunately no they got rid of Saturday testouts. The nursing lab hours vary but they are usually open Monday through Friday from 9-8pm. The scheduling is difficult because you have to pick specific time slots. Often at times the time slots you need aren't available. But I'm hearing the new program is different. In the new program you will have workshops and simulations which require a group effort rather than an individual test out.
