Brookdale Community College

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone,

I applied and was accepted to Brookdale CC (in New Jersey) with the intention of taking quite a bit of my prereqs online before I transfer to a nursing program at a university. I'm having second thoughts now, because although I know Ratemyprofessor.com isn't really something I should rely on heavily, ALL of the online professors have horrible reviews from students saying that the classes were poorly prepared for being taught online. In many instances it states that attendance is required, there are field trips, proctored exams for humanities courses (in my current school those are only required for math classes), and many students said the professors were terribly forceful with their opinions and gave poor grades to those who disagreed with them. The part about required attendance and field trips is a big turnoff for me as I wouldn't even be taking online courses if I had the time for things like that.. I would just go to the traditional route and take classes at the school. I'm scared to make a move at this point because I don't want to set myself up for complete failure if it is true that the classes are so poorly equipped for distance education, but at the same time, I know that sometimes those ratings are written by students who are upset with their professors after they receive poor grades.

Does anyone here have any experience with this school? Please let me know what you think and/or how your experience is/was. Thanks so much in advance.

(I posted this in the pre-nursing student forum because the New Jersey forum is usually not particularly active and I have never had success posting there before.)
