Hello :) I've been a lurker on this site for years - from my first year as a nursing student and now coming onto my third year after graduation.
It's been a long road, and I couldn't possibly go into all the gory and bitter details, but I am currently living in the UK, unable to get work as a nurse after 2 years of trying.
I've decided that it might be time to make the expensive trip back to the USA and be the person I spent four years training to be.... in the year that I was a nurse in Florida, I was a pretty good one. But I've reached the limit of desperation and I know that I will lose my skills if I don't get back into it soon!
I've kept up my CEU's, and I'm about to renew again. I understand the H1B Visa requirements for working in the USA, but the part I'm at a bit of a standstill is where to find employment.
Does anyone recommend a USA agency, a hospital, or specific employer that takes on nurses with some experience and H1B visa applicants? EDIT: it doesn't have to be in Florida - I can endorse my license to another state if necessary :)
Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.
Not all nurses get H1b, generally they get EB3. The hardest thing is finding employer willing to pay $$ for either H1b or EB3 when there is a surplus of nurses already in the US. Best thing to do is contact hospitals in the areas you want to live and work in
