I found the book to be really helpful for all sections of the test, there were only a few words that weren't covered in the vocab section, other than that the book covers all of it. I got a 92.46% overall, they sent an email the same night with a breakdown of how I did on each section and it listed my class average as 85, so I'm hoping it's good enough! Good luck to you! :)
How is the program so far? My husband was accepted there, but we are really nervous and up in the air because of all the bad things we have heard. Are the teachers good? Do you know where the clinical sites are? I heard they are all LTC and could be as far as Hood River or Beaverton. Any info would be great! Thanks!
Hello!
So, the program is good but I am sure you have heard some negative things. I'll give you the break down I wish I had gotten before starting...
- If you are self motivated and able to learn a lot from reading texts your going to be fine. - The teachers really are great - we've only met 3 so far but I really like all of them. That being said, I pick up on things really quickly and I study a lot, I don't cram. I also ask questions and get clarification when I need it. If your husband is like that then he will do fine. The people in our class that are struggling are the ones that want everything to be spelled out in black and white. Also, you have to follow the syllabus they provide, not just class lecture etc. I've done really well by taking what is given in class and then making sure everything on the syllabus is complete as well...
- The clinical sites are just expanding to the hospital but they have always met the criteria to pass the State BON criteria.
- A lot of the clinical's are at LTC but not all of them. They are working on expanding relationships now and are having really good luck!
- You, or your husband rather, may have to drive a bit to get to clinical sites but there are so many people that drive from those areas that they usually give them the clinical sites in Hood River and Beaverton - because they are close to their houses! I haven't actually heard of anyone having to drive to Beaverton unless it was by choice.
- The program is expensive... But, your husband can go work for a place that does loan forgiveness like most of us plan on...
Please feel free to let me know if you have additional questions!

Hey all!
Just wondering if anyone knows how competitive it is to get into ITT Tech Breckinridge program in Portland? I'm taking the HESI A2 entrance exam Friday and was wondering if anyone had any tips for the test or knows roughly how many people test for each cohort? I know they take the top 30 scores but was wondering out of how many roughly? I've read a couple threads but was interested in responses from Oregon, though any/all advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)
